One cannot say to many bad things about the band Coldplay.  I will be sing Para, Para, Paradise for the next hour.  This is not the song you want out of your head its the song you don't want to leave it.  Coldplay has mastered the fine art of smooth instruments and soft clean vocals.  Chris Martin is in a category all alone and the song Paradise doesn't leave you wanting.  The Chorus will having you singing Paradise, like it will bring you to yours.  A Feel good grove of 2012.  Music Lives!!!

Chevelle "Face to the Floor"

The dirty sounding distortion of the rhythm guitar hits home to all of us garage band wannabes.  Its edgy but refined sound mixes well with Pete's vocals.  His trademark sound cuts through the low tuned guitar riff with deadly accuracy.  The chorus makes you pump your fist and bang your head without even thinking.  The harmony of the song is best felt in the bridge when the hard hitting guitar combines with the razor sharp vocals.  Chevelle has found a hard rock hit in Face to the Floor.

Soundgarden "Live to Rise"

Are they too old to rock? Can the band come together and make good music again? Both these questions have been answered in the song Live to Rise.  The bands newest single was highlighted in the Avengers movie. Which was a great movie in its own right.  But we are talking about soundgarden right now.  Chris Cornell's trademark vocals are back and he shows the new generation why they are such a great band.  The subtle dynamics of the intro build into a smooth verse then the chorus hits straight in the face.  Not to be overshadowed by the vocals the guitarist lays down a solid performance from the intro to the solo all in all a good song for 2012.  Music Lives!!!

Horrible Crowes "Lady Killer"

Now this band makes you feel like your there live hearing this song for the first time, every time you hear it.  The raspy vocals laid down by the lead singer make you feel every word.  The guitar player combines subtle harmonies that blend with the vocals to create a unique sound that can't be duplicated.  Taking nothing away from the solid performance from the rhythm section because without their solid timing and dynamics this song would hit with less than half the power it delivers, leaving you wanting.  Good song, Music Lives!!!

Of Monsters and Men "Little Talks"

The Duel vocal talents of the female and male vocalists paint a story that your ears just grab a hold of and don't let go.  Take me for a ride you say.  They blend their vocals with a wide array of instruments, that go so good together you would think that every band could pull off a brass section.  But the truth is Of Monsters and Men are in a category by themselves.  Good song, Music Lives!!!

Young the Giant "Cough Syrup"

The melodic finger picking intro, to the smooth inviting vocals.  They draw you in and build on the already solid back beat provided by the drummer and bassist.  Making this a feel good song that just speaks to your heart and says now is the time to forget all my worries and just live.  Click the link below and enjoy.  Good song, Music Lives!!

Civil Wars "Barton Hollow"

Who said that soul in music is gone.  i guess they haven't heard the Civil Wars doing Barton Hollow.  Bring back folk and bluegrass music if it all sounds like this.  The Duel harmonic vocals feed off each other so well it feels as if their being is connected and we get the pleasure to hear this blissful outcome.  Oh wait lets not forget the nice rhythm provided by the acoustic guitar, but on song like these even the smoothest riff would take a backstage to the vocals.  Good song Music Lives.
